Design optimisation and characterisation of films for delivering poorly soluble hydrophobic drugs to wounds

چکیده

Despiteadvancements in wound management, chronic wounds still fail to heal anappropriate time and manner. Hydrophobic drugs of interest the pharmaceuticalindustry exist that are suggested reduce inflammation aid woundhealing process; however, delivering these poses a challenge both interms ease formulation processing drug release characteristics whenapplied vivo. Naturally occurring, biocompatible, bioactive excipients, such as hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) andcitric acid (CA) hydrophilic widely used management anddelivery soluble drugs. However, hydrophobic not compatible inthis environment without addition molecules, such β-cyclodextrin(βCD), which acts carrier allows delivery. This study investigatedthe use CA development achieve crosslinking HEC βCDto allow incorporation poorly model The prepared filmshave been characterized for their functional physico-chemical properties relevantfor healing applications.

Nanosized Technological Approaches for the Delivery of Poorly Water Soluble Drugs

A major hurdle in pharmaceutical formulation is water insolubility of most of drugs affecting their stability and bioavailability. If the drug is also insoluble in organic medium, it is difficult to deliver it in a sufficiently bioavailable form and hence it is a great challenge to formulation researchers to overcome such difficulty. Although some approaches are available for enhancing th...

Nanonization strategies for poorly water-soluble drugs.

Poor water solubility for many drugs and drug candidates remains a major obstacle to their development and clinical application. Conventional formulations to improve solubility suffer from low bioavailability and poor pharmacokinetics, with some carriers rendering systemic toxicities (e.g. Cremophor(®) EL). In this review, several major nanonization techniques that seek to overcome these limita...

Novel Strategies for Poorly Water Soluble Drugs

Solubility of drug plays critical role in achieving the optimum therapeutic levels of the drug in blood and thus bioavailability. There are many drugs of various therapeutic categories fall in BCS class II and IV as they lack solubility. For all these drugs dissolution is the big hurdle for the absorption process. Present review’s focus is mainly on novel techniques of improving the solubility ...

Novel polyvinylpyrrolidones to improve delivery of poorly water-soluble drugs: from design to synthesis and evaluation.

Polyvinylpyrrolidone is widely used in tablet formulations with the linear form acting as a wetting agent and disintegrant, whereas the cross-linked form is a superdisintegrant. We have previously reported that simply mixing the commercial cross-linked polymer with ibuprofen disrupted drug crystallinity with consequent improvements in drug dissolution behavior. In this study, we have designed a...

A New Crystal Engineering Technique for Dissolution Enhancement of Poorly Soluble Drugs Combining Quasi-emulsion and Crystallo-co Agglomeration Methods

A target of best dissolution improvement of poorly soluble drugs is a necessity for the success of formulation in industry. The present work describes the preparation, optimization, and evaluation of a new spherical agglomeration technique for glimepiride as a model of poorly soluble drugs. It involved the emulsification of a drug solution containing a dispersed carrier that tailors the crystal...
